LEGENDARY TRUMPETER ARTURO SANDOVAL EXPLORES HIS SOFTER SIDE
“My Foolish Heart” is a gorgeous new recording from one of the world’s greatest trumpet players, Arturo Sandoval.
This album of twelve ballads presents the Maestro in his most sentimental and heartwarming release to date. Known for his stunning technical mastery – often displayed in dizzying high notes, rapid-fire speed and execution, and harmonic complexity – Sandoval instead explores the softer side of the horn on this recording. These classic standards, which have long evoked the emotions of love and heartache, find new life in Arturo’s warm and inviting tone, as well as in the performances of a stellar trio that includes pianist JEREMY SISKIND, bassist BRIAN BROMBERG and drummer CHARLES RUGGIERO. The ensemble is also joined by 40 string players courtesy of the BUDAPEST SCORING ORCHESTRA.
The album was produced and arranged by fellow trumpeter, TONY GUERRERO, with lush orchestrations from BOB BARRETT. “My Foolish Heart” will be released in November, 2024 on the MetaJAX Entertainment label.
